Basketball and Football

Basketball and football are somewhat the same. In basketball you have a team that runs up and down trying to make the ball in the goal. Football is the same thing. In basketball there are rules that players have to follow just like in football. A foul is when a player on the defensive team hits a player on the offensive team. Same in foot ball but it’s called pass interference which is when the defensive player hits or happens to do something that can cause him not to catch the ball. Things like hitting his hand, pushing him in the air.
Basketball is played on a hardwood floor with a round bouncing ball. Their goal is to get it into a basket, hence the name basketball. Football is played on a 100 yard field with a team of at least 12 people from each team on the field. While in basketball there’s only 5 people from each team. In football a ball is thrown several yards to a receiver whose job is to run and get it into the in-zone and score a touchdown which is worth six points. Then after they can kick the aerodynamic ball between goals to get an extra point or you can run a play for a two point conversion. You wear football cleats to play on football but you have to wear sneaker when you playing basketball. In football you get to tackle the ball carrier and you have to wear protective equipment so you dont get hurt.

The Wetter The Better

One day about two summers ago my friends and I were playing touch football in the middle of the street. It's a one way street where not a lot of cars pass through. We trashed talked, laughed and had fun all at once. My mother was looking out the window because there was a lot of yelling going on. People on the sidewalk stopped walking to watch us play. I guess we were playing pretty good. Out of nowhere it’s gets cloudy and starts to rain. This wasn’t your ordinary rain this rain came down with force and it didn’t come alone. It came with its friend wind. The football game didn’t stop, instead it kept going. The rain made the game more enjoyable, we were sliding everywhere, we had to run extra hard. Some of us couldn’t catch the ball and the ones who did end up falling and hitting the ground. We laughed at how we fell, laughed at how we caught the football in some of the weirdest ways. Our clothes were all soaked from the rain. Our parents would call out the window telling us to come upstairs but we didn’t listen we were to busy having fun in the rain. The rain and the wind made the game more difficult, which made it more fun.

Before reading this story I knew that it was going to be about sisters from Kurdish, who came to America. Reading that they were from there I allready knew the bad things that occurr's over in that area. What I wanted to know is what kind of jobs did the sister get after comming to Americ? Did they evey get a degree? and would they go back to their country and try to help those that are trying to get out of poverty and abbuse. What I learned was that the cops over there aren't really there for protection of the citizens. They just there to abuse their power. I also learned that females had to wear thick clothing and scars when walking outside in that extruciating heat. PLus they couldn't wear any lipstick or make-up. I think that what they had to go threw is horribel and that no one should be treated reason for any reason. Why would you treat females like they are inferior when they are the ones that have to carry you for 9 months. If anything females shuold be respected and treated as equal. I feel sorry for them having to walk outside with scarfs and extra clothing on when the weahter is 96 degrees everyday. I want to know whats the purpose of them treating females this way?

Are Game Good for Your Health?

I like to play games and always heard that playing video games for too long isn't good for you. I've also read that video games are one of the reason for obesity and aggresion. However reading this article (link below) I learned that video games are actually healthy and good for you. They said that action games could sharpen vision and may even cure amblyopia. Amblyopia is also know has "Lazy eye". To cure this, doctors would suggest to wear an eye patch over your good eye, but researchers at Nottingham University found out that one hour of playing video games can achieve what eye pathces do in 400 hours. Another good thing about video games is that tetris can increase your brain efficiencey if played 30 minutes a day over a theree month period. Playing tetris develop a thicker cortex. Myspace vs Facebook

Before reading this article I was a member of both myspace and facebook. I knew that these two websites were just a way of communicating with coligues from back in the day. I chose this article because the title was Does your social class determine your online social network. After reading this I found out that it actaully does because of a study done. It said that most middle class people use myspace while the educated and upper class use facebook. Which is very interesting because I know alot of middle class people who are on facebook. Do you think that there's a larger number of upper class people on facebook then middle class?

Scientists discover massive ring around Saturn

Before reading this article I only knew about earth and the moon.I also knew that there was seven planets in this universe. After reading this I learned that Saturn had a huge ring thats nearly invisible that scientist are just now recently discovering. They said that it can fit 1 billin Earth's."If you were to stand in the ring, you wouldn't even know it," Verbiscer said in a statement, I think thats crazy for someone to stand on the ring and not even no it. That would probably feel like your justy floating in the air.

Body Piercing and Tattoing: Risk to Health

I allready knew that some tattos take hours to get done, some piercing hurt and take weeks to heal or to get used to. I knew that once you get a tatto you cant give blood for a year allready. Also i allready knew that tatto and body piercing is a art work, that shows expressioin and can be somthing symbolic. After reading this I found out something shocking, that in history people used to pierce their bodies, I never knew that piercing went back this far. To show manhood Roman soldier used to pierce thier nipples. The risk of getting a tatto from an un-sterolized needle is a STD, hepetatis A and or B. For piercing you can get swelling, redness, and puse. If any of these things happen you ghould get help.
